1860s Christmas Ball

At the Christmas ball I had the opportunity to meet the lovely, Glenda. She looked stunning in her attire - such lovely jewelry, and she made her headdress herself.

A view from the balcony of the dancing below.

My mother wore her blue-green silk ballgown. It has original silk fringe on the sleeves, silk organza undersleeves and neckline frill. It laces up the back through hand-sewn eyelets. This dress also has a matching Basque bodice for daytime wear. A gold and pearl brooch at the neckline and matching gold slide bracelets complete the look.

  1. Wow! Such lovely gowns! I really love the pale green one with pagoda sleeves and the one your mother is wearing!
