Pittsburgh Reenacting

This weekend we attended a small living history in the Pittsburgh area. Vince wore his new Corner Clothiers wool jacket (didn't Kara do a fabulous job?) and I wore my plaid wool dress. We had a great time!

  1. Where did you get the wool, and how much was it/yard? I work for Hale Farm and Village in Ohio, and our costumer is looking for good wool fabric. All she is coming across lately are solids.

  2. I purchased this wool awhile ago (5+ years?) from Jomar in Philadelphia. I don't remember the price, but I think it was pretty inexpensive.

Not sure if this will help because it's pretty far away for her, but just in case she would get to these areas for reenactments, vacation, etc...I worked at the PA Fabric Outlet in Leola (in Lancaster County) and Lemoyne (near Harrisburg), PA for several years and they always had plenty of beautiful plaid, striped, and solid wools at great prices. They have 50% off sales several times a year, too, for people on the mailing list. They also sell wholesale: http://www.pafabric.com/ (Their wools started at $1.98/yd and went up to about $10.98...Cashmere and exotic fabrics like that could go up to about $14.98...but all of that would be 50% off during one of their sales)
I think they also have a store in Philadelphia, too.
