Watching 'American Friends' as I sew a wire hat makes me look forward to returning to the reenacting scene this summer. There are several events that I'm looking forward to attending, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to find the time to make myself some new dresses and accessories. There are so many things that I've been looking forward to creating over the past few years.
Aren't the costumes in this movie just lovely? The costume designer, Bob Ringwood, did a fabulous job on the costumes. For the most part they look very accurate right down to the accessories and hairstyles. I love the sheer dresses with lightweight shawls and the beautiful parasols and antique jewelry. The shape of the skirts is also very nice.

ReplyDeleteYes, 'American Friends' is a movie from the 1990s. It is only available on VHS, I believe. But it is currently available on Netflix and AmazonPrime to stream.
I will have to watch that! I'm in need of a "new" costume movie to watch while working on sewing projects. :)

I wish I could go this year; it's a really lovely event! But I will already be back home in CA by that time, getting ready for my wedding.
