Virginia Trip

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Virginia where I visited Richmond (Museum of the Confederacy, Confederate White House, The Valentine Richmond History Center, and Wickham House), Petersburg (Eppes Plantation and a visit to Poplar Grove Cemetery to say hello to Emmanuel Dabney), and Williamsburg (Colonial Williamsburg, Chippokes Plantation State Park).

At Colonial Williamsburg I had the opportunity to meet the lovely and talented Samantha Bullat of the The Couture Courtesan Blog.

And while in Colonial Williamsburg I snapped a few pictures of the dresses worn by the costumed interpreters in Revolutionary City to share with you!

We had a delightful trip. The first two nights Vince and I spent in Richmond, and the next two were spent at an adorable little cottage in Chippokes State Park. There we met up with good friends who were our neighbors while living in Boalsburg, PA in a carriage house on the grounds of the Boal Mansion. We cherished those times with them, so spending a few days in a beautifully decorated, quaint little cottage in Chippokes was wonderful. We grilled, at s'mores, walked on the miniature beach at Chippokes by moonlight, and played games. It was the perfect little summer getaway.

Now onto my next sewing project: a regency dress and spencer jacket for a client!
